UNBELIEVABLE VALUE at just $13,000 fall of hammer!

We have recently purchased ORDER TO CHARGE, a lightly-raced 4YO gelding by War Decree that has placed in 50% of his career starts to date and we think can easily be knocking off his maiden at his new home of Kembla Grange with trainer Mitch Beer.

Brought over from New Zealand to Australia by Mike Moroney, ORDER TO CHARGE had 9 starts across the Tasman for 5 placings and was brought over to reap the excellent maiden prize-money in Australia. He comes out of strong maiden races in New Zealand, littered with plenty of subsequent winners and he was unlucky not to pick up his maiden win there before heading across to Australia. He has arrived to Advika Park in great order, is lovely and sound and has been examined by vet Dr David Shepherd as per the report at the link below:

Veterinary Certificate – Order To Charge

In his first start in Australia, he finished 3rd at Werribee, behind 3-time winners Falcon Of Malta and Another Wil, with the latter bolting in at Caulfield only a couple of Saturdays ago by 3.3 lengths.

He had a spell after this performance before returning as $4.60 2nd favourite to Ginger ‘N’ Pink at a midweek meeting at Sandown. Taken back to last, completely against his pattern, he finished some way off the winner but was hitting the line hard in what turned out to be a very strong form race with 4 runners in that field winning at their next start. The winner Ginger ‘N’ Pink won her next race at Caulfield in a BM70 worth $150,000 by 1.5 lengths.

At his next (and most recent) start, he started as $7 3rd favourite to Otago and Sparkling at Bendigo. Although beaten a fair distance in the end, it must be respected that he started this price versus Otago, who won at his next start at Flemington in a $150,000 race before starting favourite and finishing 4th on Saturday in the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes behind Riff Rocket. Sparkling ran 2nd in the Bendigo race and bolted in by 3 lengths at her next start. The Autumn Belle who finished 3rd did the exact same and dominated her rivals by 2.5 lengths at her very next start before winning again at Geelong.

As you’ll see, he has been very well respected by the market in each of his starts in Australia and has form around some of the more promising horses in Victoria. With a slight drop in jurisdiction to provincial New South Wales, we think he can be breaking his maiden easily before getting through the grades there for good prize-money. There are $60,000 Super Maiden races nearly every week right on his new back doorstep at Kembla Grange. The winner of these races pick up $28,400 in prize-money and we think races like this would be right in his winning range.

We have a great track-record when buying excellent value maiden gallopers, changing their environment, making them winners and profitable opportunities for their owners. Face The Jury was a very similar priced purchase at just $8,000 fall of hammer and she has returned just shy of $100,000 in prize-money already. Majorelle was purchased as a maiden galloper back in July 2022 and has since won 5 races, including 3 this preparation. Atlantic Way was purchased as a maiden for just $6,500 and gave his owners a great thrill, winning his first 4 races under their ownership.

Mitch Beer has really hit the ground running since moving to Kembla Grange last year. He is a passionate, young trainer that is getting some fantastic results with a mix of tried and younger horses. From his last 50 runners, he has had 16% winners and a very impressive 46% placings. Mitch is very excited to start training Order To Charge and thinks with his strong Victorian form, he can certainly get through the grades in New South Wales.

Order To Charge has just completed a short spell at Advika Park in Victoria and has now begun his pre-training program there with Caroline Price. We have had very good success with our horses starting their preparation with Caroline, with the likes of Lazy Susan, Just Folk, Keats and more all doing their preliminary work at Advika Park. He will have 4-5 weeks with Caroline, building up muscle and fitness before heading to New South Wales to get underway with Mitch Beer.
