In partnership with Mick Gannon and Thoroughbred Racing Analytics, we have purchased a 4-year-old daughter of Champion Sire Written Tycoon out of Listed winning Hard Spun mare, Spinning Jenny. Her name is MISS UCHITEL and we are thrilled to announce that she will be heading to the NSW Metropolitan Trainer Premiership leading duo of Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott (Flemington). Training at a 22.60% winning strike-rate this season, there is no hotter stable at the moment in the country.

Miss Uchitel has had just the 4 career starts, coming from near the tail on each occasion and recording some very quick late sectionals. She doesn’t have to improve at all to win her maiden but we anticipate that we can find good improvement through a change of tactics and also as she continues to furnish as a mare into her next couple of seasons. She ticked a lot of boxes for both Mailbag Bloodstock and Thoroughbred Racing Analytics and we were thrilled to pick her up for $35,000 fall of hammer.

Starting a well-supported 2nd favourite on debut at Bendigo, Miss Uchitel showed a devastating turn of foot to be narrowly defeated (0.5L) after getting back to 8th position in running. It was a day at Bendigo which heavily favoured those on the pace with 5 of the 8 races won by horses in the first 2 in running. On the PuntingForm.com.au sectional data, she recorded a L600 figure of 7.7 lengths above the Class Benchmark for maiden class. This was the 3rd fastest L600 of the entire meeting but even more impressive, as a maidener she has run the fastest L200 and L100 on the card.

Miss Uchitel trialled nicely behind the very speedy Oscar Charlie leading into her second preparation before another fast finishing placing at Kembla Grange. Again on this occasion, she got back in the field on a track that favoured those in the front half of the field and worked home nicely to be beaten by her now stablemate Zelta, who was good enough to run in the Listed Reginald Allen Quality at Randwick on Saturday. This was run at an even tempo and she was able to record a figure 1.9 lengths above maiden grade in her L600m.

She is by Champion Sire Written Tycoon whose yearlings have averaged over $300,000 in the sales ring and sold for up to $1.4 million in 2023. His impressive record includes 52 stakes winners, among them many top-tier mares such as Coolangatta, Pippie, Tycoon Tara, Booker, Odeum, Luna Rossa, Enthaar, and many others. Miss Uchitel is out of Hard Spun mare Spinning Jenny who won 5 races from 1100m-2100m including a Listed victory. Spinning Jenny is also very well-related, being a half-sister to Philda (winner of 12 including at Listed level) and Soorena, the dam of The Quarterback (Group 1 winner), Philippi (Group 2 winner) and more high performing progeny.

This is your opportunity to be involved in a Written Tycoon mare with a blistering turn of foot, heading to the hottest stable in Australia.
