A colt by Yes Yes Yes, with a Group 1 pedigree and heading to the hottest stable in the country!
We are thrilled to have secured this stunning colt by very promising sire Yes Yes Yes and to have him trained by the hottest stable in the country, Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. Only a couple of days ago, the stable were celebrating their 5th victory in the $3,000,000 Magic Millions 2YO Classic with Storm Boy, an unbeaten colt bred by Coolmore Stud, just like our colt.
After inspecting plenty of horses at the Magic Millions over the last fortnight, we were ecstatic to have been able to purchase this colt for $80,000 fall of hammer. The average sale price for a Coolmore Stud sold horse at Gold Coast was over $320,000, so we were over the moon to secure this box-ticking colt for $80,000. We looked at a multitude of factors and this colt scored extremely well across the board. These included sire data, dam data, biomechanics, vendor performance, progeny analysis, vetting and of course the physical inspections as well.
Our colt is by a very exciting up and coming sire, The Everest winning Yes Yes Yes. The Coolmore Stud stallion was an ultra exciting racehorse, winning 3 races as a 2YO, including the Group 2 Todman Stakes, giving wind burn to the likes of Bivouac and Dubious. He wasn’t just a 2YO though, it was at 3 that he ran 2nd in the Group 1 Golden Rose before dominating his rivals in the $14,000,000 The Everest versus a myriad of world-class sprinters. As you’d expect from a Coolmore based sire, Yes Yes Yes has been extremely well received by buyers, averaging $126,000 from his first crop and a couple from his second crop, including 8 sales of over $300,000 so far.
The dam of our colt is just as well-credentialed, Stravinsky mare November Rain. She was a very good racehorse, winning the Group 2 Cal Isuzu Stakes and just narrowly missed, finishing 2nd in both the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks and Group 1 Easter Handicap. She has continued to have a high level of success in the breeding barn as well, having two winners from three foals to race. No Rain Ever (by No Nay Never) is a race winner that was just 3.6 lengths off the winner of a Group 1 as a 2YO. Her other winner, Mr Kirikanan (by Pour Moi) has won twice in Malaysia and Singapore.
If all of the above wasn’t enough to make this colt a great opportunity, he will head to the extremely in-form stable of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. They once again dominated the 2YO scene on Saturday at the Magic Millions meeting at the Gold Coast. Not only did Storm Boy remain unbeaten winning the $3,000,000 2YO Classic, they also had Too Darn Lizzie win the $500,000 ‘The Debut’ for 2YO fillies and So United win the $1,000,000 ‘Subzero’. They are currently 2nd on the New South Wales Trainer’s Premiership with an astounding strike-rate of 21.60% this season and 28% for their last 50 runners!
Our colt has headed from the busy sales atmosphere in the Gold Coast to enjoy some downtime at Evergreen Stud Farm in New South Wales. He will spend some time in the paddock before being broken-in and going through the highly successful system of young horses with Gai & Adrian.
