We purchased the BEST TYPE of the recent MAGIC MILLIONS SALE
It’s not often we can walk away from a sale and say we picked up ‘the best type’ of the whole sale, but this filly, in our eyes, was the STANDOUT of this sale. By HEADWATER, a proven sire of PROPER fillies and mares and out of the same family as GROUP 3 winner FELINES. This filly was OUTSTANDING VALUE and we picked her up for nearly half the price we had labelled for her back in June when she was originally sold.
By HEADWATER, a sire that has quickly become proven at producing GROUP QUALITY fillies and mares. MILEVA was the winner of the GROUP 3 Sir John Monash Stakes as well as another 3 x LISTED races. JAMAEA looks an extremely promising daughter of Headwater and has already picked up wins in the GROUP 2 Percy Sykes Stakes and GROUP 2 Furious Stakes. Just a few days ago she finished less than a length off Kiku in the GROUP 2 Theo Marks, beating home the likes of Kementari, Ellsberg, Atishu and Kolding. Progeny of Headwater has understandably been extremely popular at sales this year, with progeny averaging over $60,000 this sales season.
Our filly is the second foal out of BIG BROWN mare CLAWS ARE OUT. Only given a few starts herself, CLAWS ARE OUT is a half-sister to GROUP 3 Concorde Stakes winner FELINES. Also on our filly’s page is BETTER THAN EVER, a Champion 2YO, 3YO & 4YO in Singapore and winner of 17 races, 12 in succession from 1200m to 2000m.
Our filly has returned from a good spell into pre-training at Hinterland Thoroughbreds in Queensland. She will then head to GAVIN BEDGGOOD, a trainer we have had tremendous success with already through FIELD OF ROSES and KEATS. Gavin is not only a brilliant trainer, he is an outstanding communicator and you will get the most thorough updates on your filly throughout her career.
We were ecstatic to be able to have another go at this filly, as we had her in our sights in the original June Magic Millions Sale. We had her priced at nearly double what we ended up paying for her which was $23,000 fall of hammer. She has been nominated and paid up for BOBS Races which offers an outstanding boost of prize-money to races in New South Wales.
As you can see in the video below, she has really matured in the time she has had in the paddock since the sales in June.
